How can I help you with Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Balance the whole body, mind and spirit.

Acupuncture works by balancing your energy which is known as qi.  We aim to understand you, your body mind and spirit, alongside any issues you have.  We balance your energy by choosing appropriate acupuncture points follow a diagnosis and taking your pulse to understand your energy flow. An example is when someone is in pain, this is an indication that the flow of qi has become blocked and we select points to encourage the qi to start flowing freely.

The flow of qi will trigger your body’s healing response and restore your physical, emotional and mental well-being.  I see it as turning a key in the door to open up the flow of your energy towards balance.  During your treatment you should start to feel more relaxed and calm.  I aim to ensure that you leave the treatment room feeling calm and energised with clarity to go back out to daily life

Mission

Five Element Acupuncture

Five Element Acupuncture originated in China over 2000 years ago. It was brought to Britain by Professor JR Worsley in the 1960s and led to the setting up of the College of Traditional Acupuncture from where I graduated in 2007. The college was originally in Leamington Spa and moved to Hatton, Warwickshire in 2005.

Five Element Acupuncture is founded on the basis of seeking to treat the whole person as well as their symptoms. If the whole person is brought back into balance then they will have the strength to repair the area of their body which is suffering. Nature is founded upon five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Each of these elements are matched to different areas of the body and are reflected in our makeup on a body, mind and spirit level. By finding out where the weaknesses lie, we can strengthen the person and help them reach their full potential.

I'm a member of

The British Acupuncture Council

The British Acupuncture Council oversees the practice of qualified acupuncturists to ensure that matters of safety and hygiene, Codes of Practice and ethics follow strict guidelines. All needles are disposable and only used once.

what is acupuncture

Discover the power of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of Chinese Medicine where very fine needles are inserted into carefully selected points on the body. It works by correcting imbalances in the body’s energy channels known as meridians to restore good health.

Acupuncture also acts as a form of preventative medicine, patients benefit from the correction of imbalances before symptoms appear.

Traditional Acupuncture promotes an improved quality of life alongside dealing with the patient’s presenting condition. Along with the needles other techniques may be used such as Moxibustion, a herb which provides warmth, Auricular acupuncture and Cupping. Each technique is chosen to assist the treatment.
